Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join our San Francisco office. In this role, you will work on a variety of projects-ranging from small to large-providing technical support and leadership throughout the design process. You will collaborate with clients, contractors, architects, and internal teams, with a strong emphasis on innovation and sustainability.

This position requires a self-starter with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Initiative and follow-through are essential.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers throughout the electrical design and construction administration process.
  • Create electrical designs using Revit and other BIM tools.
  • Conduct analyses to develop design options and recommendations.
  • Assist in planning and designing electrical systems for commercial, educational, healthcare, and industrial facilities.
  • Support proposal development, cost estimates, and equipment schedules.
  • Propose innovative solutions to design challenges.
  • Coordinate project scope, design, and deadlines with project managers and senior engineers.
  • Review submittals and shop drawings; respond to RFIs in a timely manner.
  • Conduct site visits, feasibility studies, and prepare basis of design reports.
  • Manage tasks to ensure timely and budget-conscious completion.
  • Actively participate in design and construction meetings.
  • Communicate and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Building/Energy Codes and LEED standards.
  • Implement electrical design in a BIM environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate

  • 2-4 years of experience as an Electrical Designer or in a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and engineering/construction processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit, and engineering analysis software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • LEED Accreditation preferred.

Essential Requirements

  • Proficiency in Revit and BIM 360.
  • Strong working knowledge of state and local building codes, NEC.
  • Familiarity with MS Office tools.

Salary Range

This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA. The expected salary range is $80,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and other relevant factors. This range may vary for positions in other locations.
